How do hits feed the writer, and will it copy someone else’s product?
AnswerHits is a shelf for copy you already proved, not a scrape of the web. Open Hits, paste a title and the full text. The writer leaves this off by default. Tick “use hits” to pull similar examples for hooks and rhythm. It must not treat another product’s facts as yours.
File first, then opt in
Each hit needs a title and the full original. Optional notes and a source URL help. Saving embeds it so the writer can retrieve by similarity. An empty shelf yields nothing.
Corpus holds your product facts; see How do I store corpus and cite tags while writing?. Hits holds expressions that already worked. Do not mix: rival ads do not belong in corpus, and they are not your facts.
How the writer uses them
In the writer, “use hits” is off by default. Turn it on and the system pulls by similarity for this topic, not the whole shelf. You still review: keep the hook, keep prices and claims as yours.
Factory titles: How does the topic factory work?. What is out there starts in Market; see How do market research packs work, and what do I edit after the model runs?.
Do this
- Open Hits and save one proven original.
- Write this topic; tick “use hits” only if you want the rhythm.
- Check that product facts still come from corpus and your edits.
- Save when it can ship; fix tone, or run How does AI-tone detect work, and how do I rewrite?.
Short answers
- Can I write without hits?
- Yes. The default is off. The shelf is optional.
- Are hit originals published?
