How do you voice a short video so it sounds spoken?

AnswerSpoken video fails on the script before it fails on the voice. Write short lines, lead with the answer, and do not read headings aloud. In Dianwu, a single narration can come from the dubbing page; dialogue that must hit a frame comes from scripts. How to lift lines from an article is in How do I turn a finished article into a voiceover?.

Fix the copy first

“Firstly / in conclusion” sounds like a deck. Swap it for one action, one judgment, one number.

The first three seconds must stand alone. That matches how Dianwu writes scripts: the first spoken line is the hook, not a wind-up.

Dubbing page versus scripts

One explainer with no shot list: paste it into dubbing, set speed, download.

A drama or lip-sync cut: write per-shot lines in scripts, then voice them. Do not lay a 60-second read of the whole episode under changing pictures.

Speed and a real listen

Default a bit faster than a read-aloud. Too slow sounds announced; too fast eats numbers. Solo the proper nouns.

A run caps at 4000 characters. A 15-second open is far below that. Spend the weekly pool on several shippable shorts, not one endless essay.

Do this

  1. Rewrite as short spoken lines; first line is the answer.
  2. Use dubbing for a single narration; scripts for shot dialogue.
  3. Pick a voice and a faster-than-read speed.
  4. Check the first three seconds and any numbers, then export.

Short answers

Does every shot need lip-sync?
Narration does not. Talking-head shots do. Scripts can mark spoken versus inner lines so not every frame opens a mouth.
Several characters in one video?
Split by speaker in the script and give each a voice. Synthesize one person at a time on the dubbing page if you are cutting by hand.
